"Those who honor my Holy Face in a spirit of reparation will, by so doing, perform the office of St. Veronica. According to the care they take in making reparation by their homage to my Face, disfigured by blasphemers, I will, in the same degree, take care of theirs, which has been more or less disfigured by sin; My Holy Face is, as it were, the seat of the Divinity, which has the virtue of restoring in their souls the impression of the image of God." 

The Third Promise of Our Lord to Sr. Marie St. Peter

Dear Friends,

Today is the Shrove Tuesday and the recognized Feast Day of the Holy Face of Jesus.  And tomorrow, Ash Wednesday - the official beginning of Lent!  Have you made a plan to do penance?  What have you chosen? Would you join me in spreading the devotion to the Holy Face of Jesus?  I need your help- or I should say Heaven needs your help! 

Did you know that this devotion was a weapon given to us by Our Lord, HIMSELF, to wield against Communists and that we have undeniably not only ignored Him but have blatantly embraced many of the ideals of Communism in this country of the U.S. by our indifferentism to blasphemy and profanation of Sunday and Holy Days? 

We have been trying to make this devotion known since 2007.  However, I am afraid and convinced that it has not been enough, but I take heart in the words that Our Lord gave to Sr. Marie St. Peter on the Promises that He attaches to our poor efforts to encourage all of us to have devotion to His Holy and yet so mistreated Face. 

 I also take comfort that Our Lord said to the holy Carmelite sister to encourage her and all others to help in the spread of this devotion:

"I seek for more Veronicas to console and adore my Divine Face, which has but few worshippers."

Won't you join me and act as a "Veronica" in making this devotion known? Our Lord told Sr. Marie St. Peter:

St. Veronica is one of our patronesses and it would be in our best interests to follow her example.

Let's read from the Book "The Devotion to the Holy Face [at St. Peter's of the Vatican and in other Celebrated Places]" by Abbe Janvier

"One of our old ascetic authors, full of admiration for this sublime act of Veronica, does not hesitate to place it above even the most sublime examples of virtue which the world has ever witnessed.

'Heroic woman, he exclaims, 'thou art incomparable, thou hast no equal upon earth! At the very time when the whole universe conspired together against the life of its Savior; at the very moment when God the Father abandoned Him into the hands of sinners, and when the angels of peace wept bitterly over Him, without being able to give Him any succour; at the very hour when the apostles forsook, betrayed and denied Him; at the very time when His  dear mother; the blessed Virgin, by fainting away had profoundly afflicted Him; at the very time when the whole of the city of Jerusalem demanded His death and crucifixion; at the very time when it was a crime and a sacrilege for the Jews to recognize in Him a holy man, thou didst revere Him as thy Messiah, thou didst adore Him as thy God, thou gavest Him refreshment and consolation in the midst of His greatest enemies. Thou didst, of a truth, merit an immortality of glory both in time and in eternity, and, therefore, the Savior made thee the most precious gift which he has ever bestowed on any earthly creature, for He gave thee His portrait impressed on thy veil. Spread it then in sight of the four portions of the globe; make all men  behold the piteous and disfigured Face of a suffering God. Preach by means of the holy Effigy the passion of Jesus Christ, and make it to reach far beyond the places to which the apostles extended the knowledge of it. As for me, I promise that I will venerate thee during the whole of my life, because of this heroic act of thy charity, and, whether living or dying, I will bear in mind the remembrance and in my mouth the name of the incomparable Veronica.'"

 Abbe Janvier was the priest who also wrote the biography of Sr. Marie St. Peter, the seer and receiver of messages from Our Lord Jesus Christ and the promoter of the Holy Face Devotion in the 1800's to combat Communism.

Sister Marie St. Peter was called to be a "Veronica"

Our Lord said to Sr. Marie St. Peter:
“Think of the outrages inflicted on Me by the Society of Communists, the enemies of the Church and of her Christ “They have laid their hands upon the anointed of the Lord. But their machinations are vain; their designs shall be foiled. I desire the establishment of the work of reparation! For it is the Work of Reparation to the Holy Face that will disarm God’s justice.”

Sr, Marie St. Peter write about this new mission on the March 29th, 1847 :

"God has imposed on me a new mission, at which I would be disturbed were I of any consequence, but as I am nothing but a feeble instrument in his all-powerful hand, I am not alarmed. He has commanded me to cross swords with the Communists who, as he told me, were the sworn enemies of the Church, and of his Christ. He gave me to understand that the greater number of these renegades were born in the bosom of the Church, of whom they now declare themselves the most bitter enemies. Then he added : I have already made known to you that I hold you in my hands as an arrow, now I will shoot forth my arrow upon my enemies. To combat them, I give you the arms of my Passion, my Cross, of which they are the enemies, as also all the other instruments of my sufferings. Wage war against them with the simplicity of a child but with the courage of a valiant warrior. For this mission be signed with the blessing of the Father, and of the Son and of the Holy Ghost.

Here, then, is one of the approved prayers given by Our Lord to Sister Mary of St Peter against revolutionary men:

“Eternal Father, I offer Thee the Cross of Our Lord Jesus Christ, and all the instruments of His Holy Passion that Thou mayst put division in the camp of Thine enemies, for as Thy beloved Son hath said, “a kingdom divided against itself shall fail.”
