What is the significance of this book?

• Father Luigi Villa was commissioned by Padre Pio and given a papal mandate from Pope Pius XII to dedicate his life to defend the Catholic Church from the work of Freemasonry – most especially Ecclesiastical Freemasonry.

• Padre Pio warned Father Villa, in their second meeting in 1963, to be brave as Freemasonry had already invaded the Catholic Church and had even "made it into the shoes of the Pope!" The reigning pope of the time was Paul VI.

• Playing the "Devil’s Advocate" (as was once a requirement in the process for beatification),

Father Villa answered the call of Cardinal Ruini, Vicar of the Pope for the city of Rome, who had issued an "Edict," appearing in the diocesan weekly "Roma Sette" on May 13, 1992, which, "invited every single faithful to communicate to us directly … any information" which, in any way, may argue against the reputation of sanctity of the said "Servant of God" by writing this book.

• This book is based on the critical study of thousands of pages of encyclicals, speeches, Conciliar documents, historical journals, commentaries and magazines.

• It was written in order "to transmit, … the "truth", in order to remain faithful to the Faith of Jesus Christ, Our Lord, which is transmitted by His Church, sole "custodian" of the "Depositum Fidei"!

Now you can know everything about Our Lady of Good Success from the 1790 original manuscript by Fr. Manuel Sousa Pereira.

The story and prophecies of Our Lady of Good Success are inseparable from the person of Mother Mariana de Jesus Torres (1563-1635), a Conceptionist religious in Quito, Ecuador. Our Lady asked her to become an expiatory victim for the impurity, heresies, and blasphemies that would be unleashed on the Church in the 20th century. She agreed, thus linking herself to our times in a special way.

Her extraordinary life and the revelations she received were written in 1790 by Fr. Pereira, a Franciscan priest she appeared to 150 years after her death. This is Volume I of his work, presented for the first time in English.

The devotion to Our Lady of Good Success has been approved by the Bishops of Quito since 1611.

Recounts the apparitions of Our Lady of Good Success pertinent to our days.

Volume II continues the account of the apparitions and favors from Our Lady of Good Success to Mother Mariana in the 17th century. Our Lady told her that a great crisis in the Church would begin in the middle of the 20th century, and that only then would this devotion become known, for it would be a remedy for that crisis.

The prophecies specific to our times describe an enormous apostasy in the Church, the general corruption of the clergy and Prelates, heresies, the abandonment of the rules in convents and monasteries, and the culpability of high ecclesiastical authorities.

Our Lady predicted that at the moment when the abuse of those authorities would reach an apex and the situation would seem lost, she would intervene and restore the Catholic Church to her proper splendor.

Volume II also tells the story of how the statue of Our Lady of Good Success was made and miraculously completed on January 16, 1611 by the Archangels Michael, Gabriel and Raphael and St. Francis of Assisi. It ends with the moving account of the reading of her last will and testament to the Convent, her death, and the first miracles that followed.

On discovering the body of Gabriel Garcia Moreno, on April 15, 1975, an old hand written document was found in a vial inside Garcia Moreno’s casket. This letter documenting the reason why Garcia Moreno’s body was exhumed and taken to another site for burial, was dated April 3, 1883 and signed by a close family friend, Don Rafael Varela. It begins: “For the Relatives and Friends of the Memory of Doctor Don Gabriel Garcia Moreno”.
